Mischief in Covent Garden

Dishes are intricately prepared at Duende, a newly opened 22-seater by Victor Garvey in the heart of Covent Garden. From the outside, one could easily mistake this tiny spot as a bar on first glance. However the moment you enter the doorway, your senses are engulfed with beautiful aromas which surely makes you want to stay for longer than just a cocktail.

Barcelona-born chef patron Victor Garvey originally hails from the revolutionary kitchens of Michelin-starred Akelarre and Mugaritz in San Sebastián. Garvey serves up some of the best innovative and modern Spanish tapas in the city.

Foie Gras Stuffed Quail

A clear favourite was the quail lollipops oozing with foie gras and dripping with Pedro Ximenez jus.

Galician Seaweed Salad
Avocado │ Piquillo Pepper Vinaigrette

Delicately wrapped seaweed in thinly sliced layers of avocado.

Pacharan Marinated Salmon Rulada
Crispy Sweet Potato │ Red Onion Escabeche │ Wasabi Alioli

Beautiful pieces of salmon marinated in Pacharan, a Spanish liqueur made from crushed and fermented sloes, the black-purple coloured fruits of the blackthorn tree. Each piece of sliced fish wrapped around finely shredded crisp sweet potato and red onion escabeche.
