• Kensington Gardens jumps to culinary life

Experience art, architecture, and avant-garde cuisine at the new Magazine restaurant in the midst of Kensington Gardens.

Magazine is a work of art with an all-white interior, designed by Pritzker prize-winning architect Zaha Hadid, famously known for her winning creation of the London 2012 Olympics Aquatics Centre. Hadid has converted a former 1805 gunpowder store into this creative and inspiring space as part of the new Serpentine Sackler gallery. There is a relaxed atmosphere throughout the day, easily transforming from an idyllic lunch spot in the midst of the gardens to a chic and cool vibe in the evenings with a DJ spinning chilled out tracks in the backdrop.

Berlin-born Chef Olivier Ollysan Lange brings his culinary combination of handcraft and heritage to Magazine. Chef Lange brings Japanese philosophy to his cooking - its dedication, respect for the purity of the ingredient and the balancing of tastes, introducing the philosophy Kokoro, heart and soul, to his contemporary and colorful menu. Chef Lange has been a guest chef at the global Pret a Diner pop-up experiences.

Overall a very enjoyable and relaxing experience, spot on service, and stunning cuisine which focused on the purity of flavours and creative presentation. The ambiance reminded me of some of the best contemporary gallery/cafe dining experiences in Vienna.
