At La Moranga, Dani Garcia has collaborated with many Michelin starred chefs to create a contemporary take on traditional Spanish dishes and does not disappoint.

When you arrive at the restaurant, prepare to queue no matter what time you arrive, but it's well worth the wait. Enjoy rich flavours along with the freshest coastal ingredients in a fun and lively atmosphere. So many categories and so many wonderful choices on this vast menu.

We started with the Salt cod with Valencia oranges. The light acidity of the orange gently balanced the delicate texture and saltiness of the cod.

Next on the list was a lightly fried tempura packet filled with fish roe and topped with courgette, which had the perfect saltiness on the palate.

The Braised Galician Pulpo (giant octopus) was very tender and juicy.

Served next was the Tuna tartare, which was enveloped in a fragrant olive oil and shredded daikon accompaniment.

To follow was the Iberico Pork burger, which was grilled to perfection. How could one experience true Spanish flavours without having the Iberico pork?

Up next was the simple and traditional Tortilla de patata (Spanish tortilla) which was light and fluffy. I have tried many a times to make this dish at home but have failed miserably.

We saved the best for last and not could not resist trying one of the foie gras dishes. Huevos Estrellados con Foie Gras was the name of this guilty pleasure. Spanish potatoes draped over with seared foie gras and fried eggs....yes that was the best way to end our meal. Not to mention that it was almost 1:30am by the time we were finished our meal, so we didn't make it to dessert.

You can find another smaller location of La Moraga at Marbella airport should you wish to savour another round of tasty Spanish tapas prior to your flight leaving the Costa del Sol. Look out for new openings in Madrid, Valencia, Frankfurt and Naples(US) soon.
